ShipEngine Pricing

ShipEngine currently offers four different levels for its customers. Each plan is available to all users and there aren’t currently set up fees for new users joining the ShipEngine platform.

Here’s a breakdown of the four different plans ShipEngine offers:

There aren’t set pricing rates for the plans. With ShipEngine, you’re billed individually for each of the services you use.

If you’re only in need of one of the services ShipEngine offers, you can sign up for a pay-as-you-go plan.

New users can sign up for a free account and the fees are waived for the first 250 label generations, address validations, and tracked packages as well as 500 rate quotes. You’ll just pay the cost of postage for the orders shipped during the trial period.

Shipping API

In order to use ShipEngine, you will need to be comfortable with using an Application Programming Interface (API). 

ShipEngine uses shipping APIs integrated with shipping software to print shipping labels and postage for the orders you receive. You won’t have to worry about a separate shipping software to manage.

Printing Shipping Labels 

ShipEngine suggests using a thermal printer if you’ll be printing a lot of labels. You can also use a laser or inkjet printer. Just be sure you can print shipping labels that are smaller than a regular letter sized paper.

Multiple Shipping Locations

Because ShipEngine works allows you to set up multiple warehouse locations, you can ship from multiple locations depending on where your products are located and where they need to be shipped.

Postage Printing

ShipEngine allows you to download and print off labels once you’ve selected the carrier you want to ship with. You can save time by printing multiple labels at once.

Weighing Packages

To get the most accurate postage quote, you’ll need the package’s weight as well as the dimensions of the item you’re shipping. Having a quality scale and measuring tape will be very helpful when determining package sizing.

Address Validation

Save on address correction charges from shipping carriers and validate addresses before you ship your orders. ShipEngine APIs are able to validate addresses while you’re going through the shipping process to be sure any incorrect addresses are caught before orders are shipped.

Dropshipping

ShipEngine offers dropshipping through an OrderHive integration. If your dropshipping business uses Orderhive to connect with customers, you can easily manage all your shipments with ShipEngine. 

Track Shipments

When you integrate your ShipEngine shipping API with your shipping partner, you can automatically send order and shipping information to the carrier. In exchange, the shipping carrier will send back the shipping information so you can track shipments. 

Shipping Internationally

International shipments are managed through an API with ShipEngine. For cost information and options, you will need to contact customer service for additional information.

ShipEngine doesn’t have the NAFTA forms for international shipping so those will need to be printed separately.
